Broker disclosure
Simply Approved Mortgages is a licensed mortgage brokerage. Reverse mortgage loans are funded by third-party HUD-approved HECM lenders. As a broker, Simply Approved Mortgages does not make credit decisions or fund loans directly. We help you compare and submit your reverse mortgage application to a HUD-approved HECM wholesale lender for underwriting and closing. Compensation to the broker is disclosed on your Loan Estimate as required by RESPA and TRID.
HUD counseling requirement
Every HECM applicant is required by HUD to complete independent counseling with a HUD-approved counseling agency before an application can be processed. Counseling helps you understand the loan, your obligations, and alternatives. Find a counselor at HUD's counseling agency locator.
